Purpose
The primary purpose of this article is to both solidify and thoroughly explain the rulesets and guidelines of reporting sellers infringing on our policies.
Today, entrepreneurs are selling more than ever before, thanks to the rise of digital platforms (ahem). With that, Sellix is growing and we want to be able to provide every one of our users with a platform that protects them from fraud, theft, and illegal content.
As of April 2021, we're officiating our Coalition Against Abuse. This will ultimately allow us to invest more time and effort into the security of our users. See something, say something.
Common practices of a fraudulent seller
Here are some warning signs to look out for when purchasing a product through Sellix:
Heavily discounted or sold-out products: Be sure to review the product fully before going forward. If a seller has lots of high-value items at suspiciously low prices or stocks products that are hard to find, that a are sold out everywhere else: you know you're in deep waters.
Off-platform payment request: Sellers who request a payment to be completed off the Sellix platform may be trying to circumvent our systems to prevent fraud. Be wary and always determine if the seller can be trusted with funds off-site. You may never see those funds again.
If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is: Always look through the feedback of sellers on or off platform. Sellers may sell you on to a dream that only they can fathom.
Keeping our sellers and buyers safe is of utmost importance for us, hence why we have zero tolerance for abuse on Sellix.
Where do I report rule-breaking content?
You may do so by emailing us directly at abuse@sellix.io
. Reports are only valid if a seller is violating any of our selling policies. Key violations:
They have no intention on completing a service-based sale
You are sent threatening messages/abusive language
They published a customer's contact information
The seller gave you false/fabricated contact information
You suspect that the seller is under the age of 16
Please note that this is not our thorough list; you'll find all of our policies here.
Report products infringing on intellectual property
Sellix is committed to ensuring that goods or services hosted or listed on our platform does not violate or infringe on anyone's intellectual property/copyright.
Privacy of your report and any warranted response
Due to our commitment to user privacy and security, whether we open an investigation into the individual seller or not, we will not inform you on the status of our investigation.
All reports are confidential and will not be used against you in any scenario. With this being noted, sellers also won’t know who reported them.
Closure of your Sellix account/shop
We'd hate to see you go, but nothing is more important to us than your security.
